Relaxation Of The Mind

If you ask anyone why he or she is under stress most of the week, what is the answer that you expect to get? “I have so much work to do, deadlines to meet, tasks to be completed, prepare for the new launch”, etc. The majority of the time, this is the response that you will receive.

What is relaxation?

In common terminology, relaxation means that we release ourselves of all tension. Relaxing the mind often means that the mind is not under any stress or overacting. In today's lifestyle, this may look quite difficult. Doesn't it? Now days, most of us succumb to the feeling of being under stress during most of the week and feeling like we can relax only on the weekends. This is considered the “Common way of life.” Is this the right way to be living? Is living a relaxed life all of the time not our natural born right? Let us reclaim that right...Shall We?

Bad stress -

If you ask anyone why he or she is under stress most of the week, what is the answer that you expect to get? “I have so much work to do, deadlines to meet, tasks to be completed, prepare for the new launch”, etc. The majority of the time, this is the response that you will receive.

Let us discuss why most of us are stressed all of the time.

At some point in our life, while we are chasing our dreams, we lose sight of our natural habit of just sitting back and reflecting. We begin giving ourselves auto responses. If we are delayed in a traffic jam, our response is - either to worry about the work waiting ahead, or blame the system or some other negative thought. Not too many of us think - All right, since the traffic is not moving, let me relax, listen to some good music, or reflect back to some happy childhood memories, remember good friends, allow myself to make the best use of this time to relax and enjoy life. Not many of us respond in this way, don’t you agree? We respond in a temperamental and stressed way whenever we come across any similar situation. This habit is taking a big toll on the quality of life.

Stress - A way of life.

We, as a society, have taken on stress as a “Way of life.” Very few of us think about why we   work at such a hectic pace. Ultimately we are going to leave this world with incomplete work, so why not at least work in a relaxed way? What is the point of working so much if we kill all the joy in our lives? In search of a better tomorrow, we kill the present. Don't we?

A stressful work environment, stressed family life, no time to just walk around doing absolutely nothing except being with nature...Why? It is as if we want to achieve the most that we can in the shortest possible amount of time. Therefore, we feel that we have no time to relax at all. Working non-stop all week long is a way of life for a large majority of people in the world today. The increase in heart attacks, depression, anxiety, etc, is the result of this hectic and stressful lifestyle. When we get stressed, we look around for the latest stress relievers, latest therapies, medications, etc. to counter the stress.

By the time the work-week ends, we again go out somewhere or do something to try to relax. Sometimes holidays can be relaxing however, they also tire for some, don't they?

Why not allow yourself a relaxed life all throughout the week?
Why not work in a relaxed frame of mind? Why get stressed at all?

Reflection about your own life is very essential if you want to reclaim your right to live peacefully. Would it help if you brought up some beautiful scenes of nature on the screen of your computer? Would it help, if you found time to watch a butterfly flying across your screen? Can the beauty of a colorful flower help us feel a little relaxed?

If your answer to any of these is yes, go download some screensavers of nature and find time to watch them and reflect for a few moments throughout your day while working. Look at them, wonder about the beauty of nature, think of their perfection and just relax.
Go ahead and do that, I’ll wait…
