Your Discontent…Honor It

We do not always know what our life’s purpose or journey is supposed to be or we may have so many dreams we feel overwhelmed with all of them. However, one thing is for certain: if we are feeling restless or discontent we are not living our dreams! The feelings of discontent and longing for a better life, even when we may not know yet what it is we are being drawn towards, are actually calls from The Universe to pursue our greater good. We discover our true desire by first noticing our discontent.

When you notice discontent or feel restless and you are not sure why, don’t shut it out just because you do not know what it means. When you shut off your longings you become numb and paralyzed and are unable to create something more interesting. Bring those inner voices to the front of your mind for observation. These voices are nudging you toward a more meaningful existence and urging you to not settle for mediocrity. By opening yourself up to them for observation, you are allowing your discontent to lead you directly to your purpose.

We also should be aware of messages from those around us and not allow others to criticize and judge us into shutting down our dreams, or even our discontent and longings. Restlessness is the Universe speaking to us, telling us there is more out there and we are not here to lead limited, stressful and cramped lives. Allow the Universe’s voice to ring louder and truer than anyone else’s. We are not here to settle for any less than our true purpose, nor should we settle for what anyone else limits us to or believes we should do. Each and every one of us has infinite potential for creating whatever it is we want to create…End of story! 

Dreams and desires constantly pull at us, tug at us, speak to us, and will not leave us alone because we are not meant to live limited, non-abundant lives. Allow these internal frictions you have to rub until they have created the spark that will ignite the fire of your own purpose. You will know your desire is sincere when just talking about it gives you energy and ignites motivation in you, even when the manifestation of it is far off. Harness your positive energy and take part in the plan that is unfolding for you. In doing this, you will be honoring your discontent and letting it lead you to your greater good and purpose.
